What's been your worst experience at a restaurant?
I won't say the experience was awful enough to avoid the place, but I had a particularly bizarre dinner with nancy drew at a neighborhood restaurant. A few months ago, we spent a Sunday together, shopping and running errands. By that evening, we were starved and decided to go out to dinner. The food at this place was fine, and we had no complaints, but our highly entertaining waitress seemed to have been flown in from out of this world. nancy likened her to Cheri Oteri's SNL character Colette Reardon, woman of a million prescriptions. Most of our requests for extra condiments whirled around her as she passed our table, few of them landing or even coming close to being addressed. She'd whiz past our table, seemingly on wheels, tossing a cackle our way before turning to vapor. It was like dining in Wonderland.

Ever run for office? (School, club, organization, politics, etc.) Did you get elected?
I got thrown into the Homecoming Court for my high school during my senior year. I had a friend on the nomination committee, and she submitted my name. I don't really remember if the final line-up was appointed by faculty or voted on by the student body, but there I was, out on the football field during the Homecoming game.
There were several extra-curricular clubs I joined (Spanish Club, Art, Drama Club), but I never ran for office of any of them.
What's the most famous movie you've never seen?
Submitted by Mike.
Reservoir Dogs. No, wait, Kill Bill.
No, wait Metropolis.
I could also include Aliens, Napoleon Dynamite, Dude, Where's My Car?, The Remains of the Day, The English Patient, and many, many others, but I'm not sure what the point would be.
In that respect, they're all just movies I haven't seen.
What is the greatest compliment you've received?

Plus, if you add to their ranks Mos Def, another actor I enjoy, you have the casts of both New York runs of Suzan-Lori Parks' Topdog/Underdog, a favorite play, in which I will be appearing in some months.
Do you have any phobias?

Needless to say, I don't get along with those eight-legged freaks. Their red phylummates which come from the sea, however, are more than welcome. Yum.
What's your favorite holiday movie?
I don't care if I'll shoot my eye out.
What are your top 5 movies/DVDs of 2006?
I couldn't rank my Top Ten albums and I definitely can't rank my Top Five Movies/DVDs of this year. Thankfully, however, the movie list is much shorter because I saw very few movies this year, as opposed to all the music I consumed. Here are the movies that stood out for me:
Serenity
CSA: The Confederate States of America
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
The Boondocks: The Complete First Season
The Comback: The Complete Series
What are your top 5 CDs/albums of 2006?

Five? eff that, I can't get it down to five. The best I can do is eleven, which is what I have here, and for the record I have not ranked them. (Then I got lazy and decided to not finish writing blurbs.)
Gnarls Barkley
St Elsewhere
Here's your soundtrack to the summer right here, folks. I know you're all "Crazy," but I just can't get enough of your "Smiley Faces." Ah, "Who Cares?"
TV on the Radio
Return to Cookie Mountain
This Brooklyn collective took a while to bore into my aural cortex, but once the damage was done, I knew nothing would ever sound the same. I plan on many happy returns.
Favorite Tracks: "Wolf Like Me," "Province," "I Was a Lover."
Neko Case
Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
Favorite Tracks: "That Teenage Feeling," "Star Witness," "Dirty Knife."
Girl Talk
Night Ripper
Here's a late-ish entry. I have only had Night Ripper for a few weeks, but it's already made a case for long-term inclusion. After seeing Greg Gillis in town last week (best dance party of the year!) I'm waiting with bated breath to hear the next thing this Girl Talk says.
Favorite Tracks: Um ... yeah, right.
The Decemberists
The Crane Wife
The Roots
Game Theory
Cat Power
The Greatest
Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins
Rabbit Fur Coat
The Dears
Gang of Losers
I certainly cannot hold their inclusion on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack against them (or perhaps in their favor--after all, it's just about the only show I care about these days), but they certainly deserve more. Like perhaps a bigger fanbase? Unless I'm mistaken, The Dears will be my first concert of 2007. I can't wait to see how "Whites Only Party" goes over.
Favorite Tracks: "Whites Only Party," "Death or Life We Want You," "I Fell Deep."
Lupe Fiasco
Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor
Tapes 'n Tapes
The Loon
What song gives you the most holiday cheer?
Submitted by Roxy.
One of the few holiday albums I do own is The Vince Guaraldi Trio's soundtrack to the classic Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Having been raised on CBS's cartoon like everyone else in my generation, and the one that proceeded mine, hearing the kids singing "Christmastime is Here" may even prove more transporting to me than traditional carols of the season.
