I've never found it easy being green, as evidenced by a long line of dead plants, stretching into my past. My horticultural pursuits have never ended in triumph but have generally ended with an unceremonial plant dumping, in the dead of night, so as to evade the gaze of curious One-Eyed Susans. I have recently been bitten by the green bug, so I'm taking another shot at keeping green things alive.

I've done pretty well with the tree MacGuyver left when he departed for New York. Still it stands, in the corner of the living room, happily growing and catching whatever sunlight bends into its corner. Last week I bought a pothos, after asking around for something leafy yet hardy at a local nursery. It's getting ready to pop out a new leaf, so that's rather encouraging. Today I brought home three more plants, which brings the photosynthetic population of the house to five.

A friend flew into town this weekend and we met up this evening after I left work. Before we went our separate ways, I suggested a quick stop in a local plant shop. I left there with a Venus Fly-Trap and a wax plant, then stopped off at nancy drew's place to grab a small pot of catnip for Willow.

What are you growing?
